Make a quick and delicious casserole using hash browns, sour cream, cheddar, and bacon for a flavorful twist.
Ingredients:
  • 6 slices bacon, or to taste
  • cooking spray
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 1 pinch salt-free seasoning blend, or to taste
  • 8 frozen hash browns, thawed, or more to taste
  • 0.75 cup shredded Cheddar cheese, or to taste
  • 1 tablespoon dried chives, or more to taste
  • ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until evenly browned, which should take about 10 minutes. Then, drain the bacon on paper towels and break it into small pieces.
  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and generously coat a 9x4-inch loaf pan with cooking spray.
  • Combine sour cream, butter, and seasoning blend in a bowl. Place 2 1/2 hash browns in the dish. Spread a third of the sour cream mixture over the hash browns. Top with 1/4 cup Cheddar cheese and a third of the bacon. Repeat layers twice. Sprinkle chives and pepper on top. Cover with foil before baking.
  • Cook in the oven until the cheese turns golden brown and the casserole is thoroughly heated, approximately 1 hour.
