Chewy oatmeal bars with walnuts, cranberries, and chocolate chips, topped with maple frosting. A festive addition to your dessert spread!
Ingredients:
  • 1 pouch (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon maple extract
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1 3/4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon maple extract
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 tablespoon dried cranberries
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and generously coat a 9-inch square pan with cooking spray.
  • Combine the cookie mix, 1/2 cup of softened butter, egg, and 1/2 teaspoon of maple extract in a large bowl, stirring until a soft dough forms. Gently mix in 1/2 cup of walnuts and 1/2 cup of dried cranberries, then spread the dough evenly in the pan.
  • Bake for 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool completely, approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
  • In a medium bowl, mix powdered sugar, 1/4 cup softened butter, 2 tablespoons of milk, and 1/4 teaspoon maple extract until smooth and fluffy. If the frosting is too stiff, gently stir in more milk, 1 teaspoon at a time. Spread the frosting on top of the bar and sprinkle with 1/4 cup walnuts and 1 tablespoon dried cranberries. Cut into 4x4 squares.
  • Let it sit with a gentle cover at room temperature.
