Indulge in maple syrup-infused nutty chocolate chunk cookies, ideal for sweet cravings.
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon maple flavoring
  • 3/4 cup coarsely chopped salted mixed nuts
  • 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chunks
  • 2 tablespoons half-and-half or milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons light corn syrup
  • 1 3/4 to 2 cups powdered sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and allspice in a medium bowl; set aside. In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and creamy (about 2 minutes on medium speed). Mix in the egg and 1 teaspoon of maple flavoring until blended. Gradually add the flour mixture and beat until a soft dough forms. Gently fold in the nuts and chocolate chunks.
  • Drop rounded measuring tablespoonfuls of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets, ensuring they are 1 inch apart. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until edges turn light brown. Let cool for 1 minute, then transfer to cooling racks.
  • Combine half-and-half, 2 tablespoons of butter, corn syrup, 1 teaspoon of maple flavoring, and 1/4 cup of powdered sugar in a medium bowl. Mix until smooth. Gradually add 1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar and mix well. If needed, incorporate the remaining 1/4 cup of powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the frosting reaches the desired consistency. Spread about 1 1/2 teaspoons of frosting on each cookie almost to the edge. Allow the frosting to set before storing the cookies in an airtight container.
