Award-winning toffee tart with buttery crust, maple-nut filling, and chocolate drizzle - impress at potlucks or parties!
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons white sugar
  • 0.75 cup cold butter
  • 2 egg yolks, lightly beaten
  • 0.25 cup cold milk
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon maple flavoring
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.66666668653488 cup coarsely chopped pecans
  • 0.66666668653488 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
  • 0.66666668653488 cup sliced almonds
  • 0.33333334326744 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • In a bowl, mix flour and sugar together. Add butter and incorporate it until the mixture forms coarse crumbs.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together egg yolks and milk. Then, stir into the flour mixture until a smooth dough forms.
  • Using hands lightly dusted with flour, gently press the dough into the bottom and up the sides of a 12-inch tart pan with a removable bottom. Line the unpricked shell with a double layer of aluminum foil and place the pan on a large baking sheet.
  • Bake in the oven until edges are golden brown, approximately 12-15 minutes.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together condensed milk, maple flavoring, cinnamon, and salt. Fold in pecans, walnuts, and almonds until well combined.
  • Take the warm shell out of the oven, keeping the oven turned on, and fill it with batter.
  • Bake the tart in the oven until it turns a beautiful golden brown, about 20 to 25 minutes.
  • Take out of the oven and allow to cool fully on a wire rack for around 30 minutes.
  • Melt chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl for 1 to 3 minutes. Drizzle tart with melted chocolate, then refrigerate until chocolate sets and filling is firm.
