Enhance maple pecan bread pudding with decadent ice cream sauce for a delicious dessert.
Ingredients:
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup real maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 cups milk
  • 6 teaspoons vanilla
  • 12 oz French or other firm bread, cut into 1-inch slices, then tear into 1-inch pieces (10 cups)
  • 2 teaspoons butter, softened
  • 1 cup chopped pecans, toasted
  • 1 cup premium vanilla ice cream, melted
  • 2 tablespoons bourbon, if desired
  • 1 tablespoon real maple syrup
Instructions:
  • Combine eggs, 1 cup of maple syrup, and cinnamon in a large bowl. Whisk until fully blended. Add milk and vanilla, mixing until smooth. Gently fold in bread pieces and let rest for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease an 11x7-inch (2-quart) glass baking dish with softened butter, then mix pecans into the bread mixture and pour it into the dish.
  • Bake without a cover for 65 to 70 minutes until the top is puffed and a light golden brown, with a slightly jiggly center. Let it cool for 30 minutes.
  • Blend ice cream, bourbon, and 1 tablespoon of maple syrup in a small bowl. Drizzle the sauce over the warm bread pudding and refrigerate the leftovers.
