Prep Time:
35 minutes
Total Time:
Gift festive jars of simple spiced roasted walnuts.
Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons maple flavor
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
  • 2 cups walnut halves and pieces
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 325°F. Line a cookie sheet with foil and spray with nonstick cooking spray. In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients except walnuts and mix well. Add walnuts and toss to coat. Spread the coated walnuts on the prepared cookie sheet, ensuring they are separated with a fork.
  • Bake at 325°F for 17 to 22 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes until glaze thickens and coats the nuts. Keep a close eye during the last 5 minutes to avoid burning. Then, transfer the nuts to waxed paper, let cool for 10 minutes until completely set, and break into smaller pieces.
