Indulge in irresistible maple coffee cake with a buttery crust and sweet maple topping, baked to perfection.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 cup Original Bisquick™ mix
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Blend 2 tablespoons of butter into 1 cup of Bisquick mix until crumbly. Add 2 tablespoons of water and mix until the dough forms. Pat the dough into an 11-inch circle on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • In a 3-quart saucepan, bring 3/4 cup water and 1/4 cup butter to a rolling boil. Stir in 1 teaspoon maple flavor and add 1 cup Bisquick mix all at once. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly for about 1 1/2 minutes until the mixture forms a ball; then remove from heat. Gradually beat in eggs one at a time until the mixture is smooth. Spread the egg mixture evenly over the pastry.
  • Bake for 45-50 minutes until the topping is crisp and beautifully golden; then let it cool for a bit.
  • Combine glaze ingredients in a small bowl until they form a smooth consistency that is thin enough to drizzle. Pour the glaze over the coffee cake and top with pecans.
