Quick and delicious flavor-packed sub.
Ingredients:
  • 18.20 gm olive oil
  • 300g pre-cooked fresh meatballs or thawed frozen meatballs
  • 4 ciabatta bread rolls or crusty bread rolls
  • 8 cheddar cheese slices, halved
  • 250ml (1 cup) tomato pasta sauce
  • 500.00 ml baby spinach leaves
  • 62.50 ml fresh small basil leaves
Instructions:
  • Preheat the grill on high while heating oil in a large non-stick pan. Add meatballs and cook for 3-4 minutes, shaking the pan until browned slightly.
  • Split the rolls in half and place 2 cheese halves on the bottom of each. Toast under the grill for 1-2 minutes until the cheese melts. Divide the roll bases among serving plates.
  • Spoon the flavorful sauce over the succulent meatballs and heat for 1 minute to perfection.
  • Layer the spinach leaves onto the roll bases, followed by the meatballs and sauce. Add 2 more cheese halves and the basil leaves. Finish by placing the roll tops to create sandwiches.
