Meatloaf with Italian Sausage

Savory meatloaf twist with beef, sausage, peppers, onions, and hearty grains.
Ingredients:
  • 1.25 pounds ground beef
  • 4 (4 ounce) links Italian sausage, casings removed
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 small green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 0.5 cup dry hot wheat cereal
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 1 dash Worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Finely chop the sausage. In a large bowl, mix together the chopped sausage, beef, beaten egg, diced bell pepper, chopped onion, cereal, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Press the mixture into a loaf pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour or until fully cooked. Periodically drain grease from the loaf pan during baking. Allow to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
