Create irresistible melted snowman cookies using marshmallows, homemade icing, and sugar cookies to wow your loved ones.
Ingredients:
  • 4 egg whites
  • 8 cups confectioners' sugar, or as needed
  • 0.25 cup lemon juice, or as needed
  • 24 sugar cookies
  • 24 large marshmallows
  • 1 (.75 ounce) tube black decorating gel
  • 1 (.75 ounce) tube orange decorating gel
  • 75 silver nonpareils, or as desired
  • 1 (.75 ounce) tube red decorating gel
  • 1 (.75 ounce) tube green decorating gel
Instructions:
  • In a large bowl with an electric mixer, whip egg whites until frothy. Gradually add confectioners' sugar until a sturdy icing forms; mix in lemon juice until you reach your desired consistency.
  • Place cookies 1-inch apart on a large sheet of waxed paper. Drizzle icing over each cookie, letting it cascade over the edges to resemble melting snow.
  • Grease a microwave-safe plate, then delicately place one plush marshmallow on it.
  • Microwave marshmallows until they start to puff up, for 20 to 30 seconds. Quickly position each marshmallow on the edge of a cookie while the icing is still wet to create adorable melted snowmen. Repeat with the rest of the marshmallows and cookies.
  • Enhance melted snowmen cookies by piping twig-like arms with black decorating gel on the icing. Create coal eyes and a mouth using black decorating gel on the marshmallow. Place a carrot nose under the coal eyes with orange decorating gel. Adorn the cookies with coat buttons by lining up silver nonpareils down the center of the icing. Use red or green decorating gel to craft scarves or bow ties.
  • Let cookies air dry on waxed paper until completely set, for a minimum of 1 hour.
