Elevate your dishes with zesty homemade tomato sauce and fiery twists.
Ingredients:
  • 10.40 gm extra hot chilli sauce
  • 18.20 gm olive oil
  • 1 small red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, halved, thinly sliced
  • 250.00 ml tomato puree
  • 21.00 gm lime juice
  • 40.00 ml chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, warm the oil. Add the onion and cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes until softened. Stir in the garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the tomato puree and 1/2 cup cold water, then bring to a gentle simmer. Lower the heat to low and let it simmer uncovered for 25 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Take the sauce off the heat, then sprinkle with salt and mix in the lime juice. Transfer half of the sauce to a small serving bowl as directed in the note.
  • Place the sauce back on the heat and add the chili sauce. Let it simmer for 5 minutes before stirring in the parsley. Serve immediately.
