Spicy beef chili with fiery cayenne kick. Perfect for winter days or game day gatherings. Adjust heat to taste, double for party size.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 2.5 cups water
  • 0.33333334326744 cup chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons dried Mexican oregano
  • 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 3 (15 ounce) cans pinto beans, drained
Instructions:
  • In a large saucepan over high heat, heat the olive oil. Sauté the onion and garlic until fragrant, about 2-3 minutes. Add the ground beef and cook until browned and no longer pink, stirring often, for about 5 minutes.
  • Combine tomato sauce, tomatoes, and water off the heat. Stir in chili powder, cumin, salt, black pepper, oregano, cayenne, and sugar. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then simmer covered on low for approximately 1 hour.
  • Uncover the pot and gently fold in the beans. Cover again and simmer until piping hot, approximately 15 minutes.
