A soft and flavorful twist on gingerbread cookies, perfect for holiday traditions.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 0.5 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar
  • 4.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) and generously grease the cookie sheets.
  • Combine smooth butter, rich molasses, creamy sour cream, sweet brown sugar, and tangy vinegar in a large bowl. Mix until well blended. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt, ginger, and cinnamon. Stir into the molasses mixture until a stiff dough forms.
  • Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness. Use cookie cutters to create your favorite shapes. Arrange cookies 1 1/2 inches apart on prepared cookie sheets.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Ice cookies with your favorite icing once completely cooled.
