Transform cake mix into spooky Halloween cupcakes with festive decorations and sweet frosting – a delightful dessert for the holiday!
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Devil's Food Cake Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
  • 2 tubs (12 oz) Betty Crocker™ Whipped Fluffy White Frosting
  • 3/4 teaspoon neon green paste food color
  • 1/4 teaspoon purple paste food color
  • 48 assorted colors ring-shaped gummy candies or fruit-flavored ring-shaped hard candies
  • Candy eyes
  • Licorice whips, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 6 miniature marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup candy corn
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line 24 muffin cups with paper baking cups or spray with cooking spray. Prepare the cake mix as instructed on the box for cupcakes using water, oil, and eggs. After baking, let cool for 10 minutes, then transfer the cupcakes to cooling racks. Allow to cool completely for about 30 minutes.
  • Color one container of frosting green and the second container purple. Put the green frosting in a decorating bag with a star tip #109 and the purple frosting in another bag with the same tip. Frost half of the cupcakes with the green frosting and the other half with the purple frosting.
  • Decorate the treats with gummy candies as eyes, candy eyes as pupils with frosting, licorice pieces as mouths, marshmallows as fangs made with dampened kitchen scissors, candy corn above eyes for horns, and on the sides for ears.
