Classic oatmeal cookies with ground oats, bake on lower oven rack for perfection.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2.5 cups rolled oats
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and prepare your baking sheets by greasing them or lining them with parchment paper.
  • Beat the butter, sugars, eggs, and vanilla until smooth and fluffy.
  • Combine flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda in a bowl. Pulse oatmeal in a food processor until finely ground, then mix it into the flour mixture.
  • Mix the butter mixture into the flour and oatmeal until well combined.
  • Mix in the chocolate chips and walnuts until fully incorporated. Shape the dough into golf ball-sized portions and bake for 8-10 minutes, being careful not to overcook.
