Mouthwatering Italian bread stuffed with olives, salami, provolone, tomatoes, and onions for a flavorful make-ahead sandwich.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup pitted kalamata olives
  • 1 cup pitted green olives
  • 0.5 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped garlic
  • 0.25 cup olive oil
  • 1 (1 pound) loaf Italian bread
  • 0.5 pound thinly sliced Genoa salami
  • 0.5 pound thinly sliced provolone cheese
  • 3 tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 large red onion, thinly sliced
Instructions:
  • In a food processor or blender, blend kalamata olives, green olives, basil, garlic, and oil until coarsely chopped.
  • 1. Slice off the top of the bread loaf and scoop out the center, leaving a 1/2 inch crust. Evenly spread the olive mixture inside. Layer the salami, cheese, tomatoes, and onion until the loaf is packed.
  • Cover the bread with the top slice, gently press down, and tightly wrap in plastic. Chill in the refrigerator for a minimum of 2 hours, or up to 1 day. Slice into 1 1/2-inch pieces horizontally and enjoy!
