Mulberry Pecan Bars: Buttery shortbread crust topped with sweet mulberries and crunchy pecans.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 cup finely chopped pecans
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1.5 cups fresh mulberries
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect bake.
  • Blend together the flour, butter, and powdered sugar until a smooth crust forms. Firmly press the mixture into the base of an 8-inch square baking pan.
  • Place in the hot oven and bake for 25 minutes.
  • While the crust bakes, make the topping: Combine pecans, brown sugar, white sugar, flour, eggs, vanilla, baking powder, and salt in a bowl until mixed well. Gently stir in mulberries.
  • Take the golden crust out of the oven, generously spread the delicious topping over it, and bake for an additional 25 minutes until perfectly done.
  • Allow the bars to cool for 15-20 minutes before slicing into 12 delicious servings.
