Ingredients:
  • 4 cups dry white wine
  • 2.25 cups apple juice
  • 1 lemon, zest cut off in a spiral
  • 1 (1 inch) piece fresh ginger root, sliced
  • 6 tablespoons rum
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan over gentle heat, combine white wine, apple juice, lemon zest, ginger, sugar, and a cinnamon stick. Warm gently without boiling, keeping it on low heat for 1 hour to infuse the flavors without simmering.
  • Pour the fragrant hot mulled wine through a fine sieve into elegant heatproof glasses, then enhance each with a generous tablespoon of smooth rum.
