Try our mouthwatering mussels marinara: fresh mussels, zesty herb tomato sauce, tossed with tender linguine.
Ingredients:
  • 8 ounces linguine pasta
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 pinch crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 pound mussels, cleaned and debearded
  • 0.25 cup white wine
  • 1 medium lemon, cut into wedges
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley, or to taste
Instructions:
  • 1. Boil a generous amount of salted water in a large pot. Cook linguine until al dente, about 8 to 10 minutes.
  • As the pasta boils, warm oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté garlic until aromatic, for about 1 minute. Stir in tomatoes, oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes; simmer on low for 5 minutes. Toss in mussels and wine, cover, turn up the heat, and cook until shells open, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  • After cooking the pasta, transfer it back to the pot. Top with mussels and tomato sauce. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the dish and sprinkle parsley on top for a vibrant finish.
