Delicious green bean casserole with fresh ingredients, topped with cheesy, crunchy goodness.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 0.5 cup diced onion
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh flat-leaf parsley
  • 1 cup diced fresh mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 (14.5 ounce) cans French-style green beans, drained
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup crushed buttery round crackers
  • 0.25 cup melted butter
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Heat butter in a skillet until melted. Sauté onions, parsley, and mushrooms until onions are translucent and mushrooms release juices. Stir in flour, salt, pepper, and lemon juice; cook until flour is slightly browned. Mix in sour cream and green beans. Transfer mixture to a square baking dish. Top with Cheddar cheese. Combine crushed crackers and melted butter, then spread over the cheese layer.
  • Bake until golden brown and bubbly in the preheated oven for 20-30 minutes.
