Award-Winning 2009 Recipe! Easy cookie-mix twist on classic layered chocolate and vanilla bars.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup chopped nut topping or chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup coconut
  • 1 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 4 tablespoons vanilla instant pudding and pie filling mix
  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 bag (12 oz) semisweet chocolate chips (2 cups)
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a 13x9-inch pan with foil, leaving some overhang on two opposite sides. Mix cookie base ingredients in a large bowl until well combined. Press the mixture into the pan and bake for 16 to 18 minutes until set. Allow it to cool completely for about 30 minutes before proceeding.
  • Combine powdered sugar and pudding mix in a separate large bowl. Mix in 1/3 cup butter and milk using an electric mixer until smooth (the filling will be thick). Spread evenly over the cookie base and refrigerate while preparing the topping.
  • Microwave the topping ingredients in a small bowl on High for 1 minute to 1 minute 30 seconds, stirring every 30 seconds until melted and smooth. Spread over the filling and refrigerate uncovered until set, approximately 30 minutes.
  • Using foil, elegantly lift the bars from the pan and gently remove the foil from the sides. Cut the bars into 9 rows by 4 rows and store them covered in the refrigerator.
