Classic versatile white biscuits.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 2 teaspoons white sugar
  • 0.5 cup butter, chilled and diced
  • 0.75 cup milk
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 450 degrees F (230 degrees C).
  • Combine dry ingredients in a bowl and cut in butter until it looks like coarse oatmeal. Create a well in the center, pour in milk, and mix until dough forms. Transfer to a floured surface.
  • Bring the dough together and roll it out to a thickness of 3/4 inch. Use a 2-inch round cutter to cut out the biscuits and place them on an ungreased baking sheet.
  • Place in a hot oven for 10 minutes, or until beautifully golden.
