Foolproof pie crust recipe yields 4 perfectly flaky crusts.
Ingredients:
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups butter
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • 3 fluid ounces cold water
Instructions:
  • Combine flour and salt in a large bowl, then gently work in the butter until pea-sized pieces form.
  • Combine the egg and vinegar in a measuring cup, then add cold water until the total liquid measures 1/2 cup. Pour this mixture into the flour and mix until the dough forms a large ball.
  • Divide the dough into four equal portions, wrap it in plastic, and refrigerate. The dough can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days or in the freezer for up to three months.
