No-Roll Sugar Cookies

Kids can easily shape and flatten these delicious sugar cookies. Perfect for cookie jars!
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 1/4 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
Instructions:
  • In a large bowl, use an electric mixer on medium speed to combine 1 cup granulated sugar, powdered sugar, butter, oil, milk, vanilla, and eggs until smooth. Then mix in all the remaining ingredients except for 1/4 cup granulated sugar. Cover and refrigerate for about 2 hours until the mixture is firm.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Coat dough in sugar, shape into balls, and roll them in sugar. Place balls on a cookie sheet 3 inches apart, flatten with a glass to 1/4-inch thickness, and sprinkle with additional sugar before baking.
  • Bake for 13 to 15 minutes until edges are lightly golden and set. Transfer to a cooling rack right away.
