  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon bacon grease
  • 1 cup water
  • salt to taste
  • 1 large watermelon, sliced into wedges
Instructions:
  • Mix the flour, milk, baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon salt in a bowl until a well-combined dough forms.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, melt the flavorful bacon grease, then enhance the taste by adding water and a pinch of salt.
  • Shape dough into 2x3/4-inch rectangles and carefully place them in the bacon grease mixture, making sure to leave space between each. Cover the skillet tightly and cook until the dumplings are golden brown, for about 10 to 15 minutes. Enjoy the flavorful dumplings with slices of refreshing watermelon.
