Irresistible Nutella-filled pancakes for a delightful breakfast or brunch option loved by all ages.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1.5 cups whole buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 10 teaspoons chocolate-hazelnut spread (such as Nutella®)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, or as needed
Instructions:
  • Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl, whisking until fully mixed.
  • Combine buttermilk and eggs, then mix into the flour mixture until just combined. Stir in melted butter until fully incorporated.
  • Preheat a large nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat and add the remaining butter.
  • Spoon generous 3 tablespoons of batter for each pancake in the pan, spreading it into circles. Cook until edges set and bubbles form around the edges and center of batter, 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Place a luscious teaspoon of Nutella in the middle of the batter, embracing its imperfect, gooey charm.
  • Spread a generous 1 1/2 tablespoons of batter over the Nutella, ensuring it's completely covered. Cook until the bottom and sides of the pancake are golden brown and bubbles start to form over the Nutella, about 1 minute.
  • Flip pancakes gently and cook until the other side is golden brown, matte, and thoroughly cooked, which should take 2 to 3 minutes. Serve on plates immediately.
