Kid-friendly nutritious bites.
Ingredients:
  • 75.00 gm rolled oats
  • 250.00 ml plain flour, sifted
  • 165.00 ml dessicated coconut
  • 112.50 gm sugar
  • 82.50 ml macadamias, chopped
  • 53.60 gm golden syrup
  • 125g unsalted butter
  • 1/2 tsp bi carb soda
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 170°C. In a bowl, combine oats, flour, coconut, sugar, and macadamias. Create a well in the center of the mixture and set aside.
  • Combine golden syrup and butter in a saucepan over medium heat until melted and well combined. In a separate bowl, mix bi carb soda with 1 tablespoon of hot water, then slowly incorporate it into the golden syrup mixture (expect bubbling). Fold the mixture into the oats until fully combined.
  • Scoop mixture onto lined baking trays, gently flatten, and bake until golden brown, for 15-20 minutes. Cool on a wire rack after removing from the oven.
