Juicy pears elevate simple oatmeal cookie bars for an effortlessly delicious treat using Betty Crocker™ mix.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pouch (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ Oatmeal Cookie Mix
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons evaporated milk (from 12-oz can)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 large pears, peeled, thinly sliced
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F and generously coat a 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray.
  • Combine the crust ingredients in a medium bowl until a dough forms. Press the dough into the pan and bake for 15 minutes.
  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Stir in brown sugar until fully combined. Add milk and bring to a boil while stirring constantly. Remove from heat and mix in vanilla. Place sliced pears on the partially baked cookie crust and drizzle the brown sugar mixture over them.
  • Combine topping ingredients in a medium bowl using a fork until crumbly. Sprinkle the mixture over the filling and gently press it down.
  • Bake for 20 minutes, or until the topping turns a beautiful golden brown. Allow it to cool in the pan on a cooling rack for at least 15 minutes before slicing into 6 rows by 4 rows.
