Classic yellow cake with a rich blend of vanilla and almond essence using shortening, sugar, flour, and eggs.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease and flour three 9-inch round pans. Combine flour and baking powder, then set aside. In a separate bowl, mix vanilla and almond extract with milk and set aside.
  • In a mixing bowl, beat the shortening and sugar until they are light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually mix in the flour mixture and milk until smooth. Divide the batter evenly into three 9-inch round pans.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the cake comes out clean.
