French onion soup inspired one-pot dinner ready in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients:
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 1 cup uncooked regular long-grain white rice
  • 2 1/2 cups Progresso™ beef-flavored broth (from 32-oz carton)
  • 1 package (1 oz) onion soup mix
  • 1/2 cup grated Gruyère cheese
Instructions:
  • In a hot 12-inch skillet over medium heat, add beef and onion. Cook until beef is fully cooked and no longer pink, breaking up the beef as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
  • Combine rice, broth, and onion soup mix in a pot. Bring to a boil, then simmer covered for about 15 minutes, stirring halfway, until the rice is tender.
  • Take the pot off the heat and gently fold in the cheese. Cover the pot and allow it to sit for approximately 2 minutes until the cheese is fully melted.
