Indulgent orange butter sauce cascades over a simple and decadent coffee cake. Delightful!
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup orange marmalade
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
  • 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
  • 2 1/4 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon grated orange peel
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • About 1 cup half-and-half
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F. Combine marmalade, almonds, butter, and corn syrup in a 9-inch round cake pan or 8-inch square pan.
  • Combine flour, sugar, orange peel, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Gradually add half-and-half until dough forms a ball. Spoon 12 dollops of dough onto the marmalade mixture and gently flatten.
  • Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until golden brown. Place a heatproof serving plate upside down on the pan, then flip them over together. Let it sit for a minute for the marmalade mixture to drizzle over the coffee cake. Serve warm or cool.
