Oven Roasted Trout with Lemon Dill Stuffing

Lemon, dill, and garlic stuffed roasted trout - an easy and flavor-packed fresh fish dish.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup soft bread crumbs
  • 0.5 sweet onion, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
  • 2 teaspoons grated lemon zest
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 0.25 cup olive oil, divided
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 trout, cleaned and head removed
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and cover a baking sheet with shiny aluminum foil.
  • Combine bread crumbs, onion, dill, lemon zest, garlic, and half of the olive oil in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Stuff mixture into trout, then brush with remaining olive oil and season again with salt and pepper before placing on baking sheet.
  • Roast in the oven until the skin is golden brown and the flesh easily flakes with a fork, for approximately 20 minutes.
