Cheesy Brazilian Pan de Queso with a fluffy texture, made gluten-free with tapioca starch.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 0.25 cup oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1.5 cups tapioca starch
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease 2 baking sheets.
  • In a large saucepan, bring water, milk, oil, and salt to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in tapioca starch until well combined. Allow to cool for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Combine the tapioca mixture with egg in a large bowl, mixing thoroughly. Gently fold in Parmesan cheese and knead until dough is smooth yet slightly sticky.
  • Take a tablespoon of the dough and form it into a small ball, then place it on a baking sheet. Repeat with the rest of the dough.
  • Bake until beautifully golden brown in the preheated oven for approximately 20 minutes.
