Succulent cube steaks seared to perfection, drizzled with a delectable pan sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 24 ounces cube steak, cut into 4 portions
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 0.33 cup Worcestershire sauce, divided
  • 0.5 cup water
Instructions:
  • Season both sides of the cube steak with a delicate sprinkle of salt and pepper. (Refer to Cook's Note).
  • In a large non-stick skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter. When the butter is foamy, add the cube steaks and generously sprinkle 2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce over each steak. Cook until browned, about 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Flip the steaks on the grill, then generously drizzle each with 1 to 2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce. Grill until the steaks are firm yet juicy in the center, approximately 3 minutes more. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 135°F (57°C). Transfer the steaks to a serving platter and cover loosely with foil.
  • Create a flavorful pan sauce by adding around 1/2 cup of water to the skillet, scraping up all the browned bits from the bottom. Let it boil and simmer for approximately 2 minutes.
  • Stir in the rest of the butter off the heat until fully melted.
  • Distribute pan sauce evenly over each cube steak and serve hot.
