15-minute crispy pan-fried tofu dish for a quick and delicious meal!
Ingredients:
  • 60ml (1/4 cup) light soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tsp rice vinegar
  • 10.00 gm caster sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 spring onion, white part only, thinly sliced
  • 530g Nature's Kitchen Firm Tofu
  • 100g (2/3 cup) plain flour
  • Vegetable or peanut oil, to shallow-fry
  • 1/2 bunch coriander, leaves picked
  • 1/2 red bird's-eye chilli, seeded, finely chopped
  • 20g salted roasted peanuts, roughly chopped
Instructions:
  • Combine soy sauce, sesame oil, vinegar, sugar, and garlic in a small bowl. Mix well, then fold in the spring onion.
  • Cut tofu into 5cm squares, then slice horizontally to create 2cm-thick pieces. Dust each tofu slice with flour in a shallow dish and season with salt and pepper, working one piece at a time.
  • Heat a generous amount of oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Sear tofu in 2 batches for 1 minute on each side until crispy and golden brown. Transfer to a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  • Arrange tofu slices in a decorative manner on a platter. Pour half of the dressing over the tofu, then sprinkle with coriander leaves, chili, and peanuts. Serve with the remaining dressing in a separate small bowl for dipping.
