Parmesan Basil Biscuits

Parmesan basil biscuits - fluffy, tender, perfect for entertaining bread basket.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons cold butter
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil leaves
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • Cooking spray
  • 1 tablespoon finely shredded Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 425°F and generously coat a cookie sheet with cooking spray.
  • Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. Use a pastry blender or two knives to cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse meal. Mix in grated Parmesan cheese and basil. Gently stir in buttermilk until just moistened.
  • Spoon 8 even mounds of dough onto a baking sheet. Gently coat the tops with cooking spray and sprinkle shredded Parmesan cheese over them.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown. Serve hot.
