Peanut Butter Brownies

Decadent peanut butter-chocolate brownies topped with creamy peanut butter frosting. Delicious!
Ingredients:
  • 1 box (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Delights Supreme Original Brownie Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on brownie mix box for cakelike brownies
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup from 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Vanilla Frosting (from 16-oz container)
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons milk
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 325°F, then grease the bottom of a 9-inch square pan with shortening or cooking spray. Prepare brownie batter according to box instructions for a cakelike texture. Set aside 1/2 cup of the batter in a small bowl and spread the rest in the pan.
  • Combine brown sugar, 1/4 cup of peanut butter, and 1 egg in a small bowl. Drop spoonfuls of the peanut butter mixture onto the brownie batter. Dollop random spoonfuls of the reserved brownie batter on top. Swirl the batter with a knife for a marbled effect.
  • Bake for 35 to 38 minutes or until a toothpick inserted 2 inches from the side of the pan comes out almost clean. Allow to cool completely on a cooling rack, approximately 1 1/2 hours.
  • Combine Peanut Butter Frosting ingredients in a small bowl until smooth. Spread over brownies, then cut into 5 by 4 rows and store tightly covered.
