Irresistible crispy chocolate bars with a blend of peanut butter, honey, oats, cereal, wheat germ, and flax seed.
Ingredients:
  • parchment paper
  • cooking spray
  • 0.75 cup chopped dark chocolate
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 0.25 cup wheat germ
  • 0.25 cup flax seeds
  • 1 cup crispy rice cereal
  • 1 cup cornflake crumbs
  • 0.75 cup chopped smoke-flavored almonds
  • 0.5 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 0.5 cup honey
  • 0.5 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons agave nectar
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
  • Prepare a 9x13-inch baking dish by lining it with parchment paper and spraying it with cooking spray. Evenly spread the chocolate over the prepared baking dish.
  • In a non-stick skillet over medium heat, toast oats, wheat germ, and flax seed until oats are lightly golden and fragrant, for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Transfer to a large bowl and mix in crispy rice cereal, cornflake crumbs, almonds, and salt.
  • Combine honey, peanut butter, brown sugar, agave nectar, canola oil, and cinnamon in a saucepan over medium heat until bubbling, about 3 to 5 minutes. Remove from heat, add vanilla extract, and pour over cereal, stirring gently until combined.
  • Smoothly spread the peanut butter-cereal mixture into the baking dish. Cover it with another sheet of parchment paper and firmly press down to create an even layer. Let it cool completely before slicing and removing from the dish.
