Pears with choc-hazelnut sauce

Elegant poached pears drizzled with rich chocolate hazelnut sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 4 Beurre Bosc pears, peeled
  • 525.00 gm unsweetened low-GI apple juice
  • 4.40 gm vanilla essence
  • 82.50 ml chocolate hazelnut spread
  • 84.98 gm reduced-fat milk
  • 40.00 ml roughly-chopped roasted hazelnuts
Instructions:
  • In a large saucepan, combine pears, apple juice, 2 cups of cold water, and vanilla. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes until pears are warmed through.
  • In a small saucepan over low heat, combine hazelnut spread and milk. Stir until smooth and heated.
  • Transfer the pears to individual bowls, then generously drizzle them with the delectable hazelnut spread mixture and finish off by sprinkling them with the crunchy hazelnuts.
