Total Time:
Layer pecans and chocolate chips in pie shell, pour in buttery sweet filling, bake for a delightful surprise. Enjoy with whipped cream and more chocolate chips.
Ingredients:
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.125 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup butter, chilled and diced
  • 5 tablespoons ice water
  • 3 eggs
  • 0.75 cup light corn syrup
  • 0.25 cup butter, melted
  • 0.5 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 0.5 cup chopped pecans
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Make the crust by mixing flour and salt in a bowl until well combined. Cut in butter until mixture resembles small peas. Add ice water and mix until dough forms a ball.
  • Chill dough in the fridge for 20 minutes, then roll out and place it in a 9-inch pie plate. Set aside.
  • For the filling, whisk together eggs and sugar in a medium bowl. Stir in corn syrup and melted butter or margarine until well combined.
  • Evenly scatter chocolate chips and pecan pieces over the pie shell. Gently pour the egg mixture over the chocolate chip and pecan layer.
  • Place the dish in the hot oven for 35 minutes. Enjoy warm or at room temperature with a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of chocolate chips, if you'd like.
