PEEPS® Cookie Nests

Spring sugar cookies with colorful frosting nests, PEEPS® chicks, and jelly bean eggs. Perfect for a fun and festive treat at any spring gathering.
Ingredients:
  • Butter and egg called for on cookie mix pouch for drop cookies
  • 3 3/4 cups from 3 tubs (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Vanilla Frosting
  • Betty Crocker™ assorted gel food colors
  • 60 Just Born® jelly beans
  • 20 PEEPS® brand marshmallow chicks
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Combine cookie mix, butter, and egg in a large bowl until dough forms. Roll dough into 20 (1 1/2-inch) balls and place them 3 inches apart on ungreased large cookie sheets.
  • Bake for 9 to 12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden brown. Let them cool for 2 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack. Allow the cookies to cool completely, which should take about 30 minutes.
  • Divide 1 1/4 cups of frosting evenly into 3 small bowls. Mix red gel food color into one bowl, yellow gel food color into another, and blue gel food color into the last bowl until reaching your desired color in each.
  • Pipe a continuous swirl of frosting around the center of the cookie, leaving a 3/4-inch circle untouched. Build up a "nest" with another swirl of frosting, creating a small well in the center of the cookie.
  • Place 3 jelly beans in the center of each cookie, then top with a PEEPS® chick. Repeat for the rest of the cookies and different frosting colors.
