Dip Christmas cookies in white candy coating, sprinkle with coconut and colorful sprinkles for a festive treat. Customize with mint extract or other flavors for a delicious twist.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup butter
  • 0.5 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 2 teaspoons water
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon orange extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup quick-cooking rolled oats
  • 1 (16 ounce) package white confectionery candy coating pieces
  • 1 cup flaked coconut
  • 1 teaspoon colored candy sprinkles
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and elegantly line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, blend butter and confectioners' sugar with an electric mixer until creamy. Add water, salt, vanilla extract, orange extract, flour, and quick rolled oats to create a crumbly dough. Roll 1 1/2 tablespoons of dough into 1-inch balls and place them 2 inches apart on a baking sheet.
  • Bake the cookies in the preheated oven until lightly browned, approximately 20 minutes. Allow them to cool until warm before serving.
  • As the cookies bake, melt the confectionery candy pieces in a microwave-safe bowl using short bursts of low power, stirring until smooth and warm, not hot.
  • Warm cookies should be dipped into the white coating and arranged on the baking sheet. Sprinkle flaked coconut over each cookie while the coating is still wet. If desired, decorate with candy sprinkles. For a different option, spoon the coating over the cookies on the baking sheet and then add coconut and sprinkles for decoration.
