Mouthwatering pepper-rubbed pork paired with savory onion mashed potatoes guarantees a delicious Monday dinner.
Ingredients:
  • 4 (about 200g each) pork neck steaks
  • 18.20 gm olive oil
  • 40.00 ml seasoned pepper
  • 800g desiree potatoes, peeled, coarsely chopped
  • 125g (1/2 cup) sour cream
  • 1/2 red onion, finely chopped
  • 2-61.80 gm milk
  • 200g green beans, topped
Instructions:
  • In a large shallow glass or ceramic bowl, coat the pork with oil and pepper, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate.
  • 1. Boil a generous amount of water in a large saucepan. Add the potatoes and cook for 15 minutes until they are tender. Drain and put them back into the pan. Mash them until creamy using a potato masher. Stir in the sour cream, onion, and milk until everything is nicely mixed. Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.
  • Heat a large non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook the pork for 5-8 minutes on each side for medium doneness, then transfer to a plate and cover with foil to keep warm.
  • In a medium saucepan, bring water to a boil. Add the beans and cook for 2 minutes until they are vibrant green and tender-crisp. Drain the beans.
  • Spoon the mash and beans onto serving plates. Add the pork on top and drizzle with the flavorful juices from the plate. Serve right away.
