Create perfect holiday mashed potatoes with Yukon Golds, butter, and cream for ultimate creaminess. Ideal for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or any celebration.
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 pounds (680 g) Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and cut lengthwise into quarters
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons (60 ml) heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons (30 g) butter
  • 1 tablespoon milk (or more)
  • Salt and pepper
Instructions:
  • To cook the potatoes, in a medium saucepan, add peeled and cut potatoes, cover them with cold water, add 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and bring to a boil. Simmer covered for 15 to 20 minutes until potatoes are fork-tender.
  • Combine butter and cream in a saucepan or microwave until melted and warmed while potatoes cook.
  • Prepare mashed potatoes: Drain the cooked potatoes and place them in a large bowl. Add heated cream, melted butter, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Mash the potatoes until smooth using a potato masher. Stir in milk until creamy. Be careful not to overmix to avoid a gluey texture. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Share your feedback below!
