Decadent chocolate-topped sugar cookies with a buttery twist.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 8 ounces semisweet chocolate, grated
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and prepare your baking sheets by greasing them or lining them with parchment paper or aluminum foil. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • Combine butter and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla until the mixture is thick and light yellow. Gradually fold in the sifted ingredients until fully blended. Spoon teaspoonfuls of dough onto baking sheets, three inches apart. Sprinkle grated chocolate over the cookies.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until the cookies turn golden around the edges. Transfer to wire racks to cool and store in an airtight cookie jar.
