Delicious Philly cheese steak filling stuffed in bell peppers for a low-carb twist on the classic sandwich!
Ingredients:
  • 3 large green bell peppers, halved lengthwise and seeded
  • 1 (14 ounce) package thinly sliced frozen Philly beef steak
  • 1 large sweet onion, diced
  • 1 (6 ounce) package sliced baby bella mushrooms, diced
  • 1 teaspoon Montreal steak seasoning, or more to taste
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 400 degrees F (200 degrees C), then elegantly arrange the bell peppers cut-side up on a baking sheet.
  • Preheat a 12-inch skillet over medium heat. Sear and continually stir steak until it develops a golden-brown crust, approximately 10 minutes. Transfer steak out of the skillet.
  • In a skillet, combine onion, mushrooms, olive oil, garlic, and steak seasoning. Sauté until onions and mushrooms are tender, around 5 minutes. Add the steak back to the skillet and cook for an additional 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Fill each bell pepper half generously with the flavorful steak mixture and finish it off with a decadent layer of melty provolone cheese on top.
  • Bake in the oven until the top cheese turns golden brown, for approximately 15 minutes. Allow it to cool before serving.
