Philly cheesesteak egg rolls: Ground beef and classic steak sandwich fixings in a crispy egg roll wrapper.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 0.5 medium green bell pepper, chopped
  • 24 egg roll wrappers
  • 12 slices American cheese, cut in half
  • 0.75 cup vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, sear the beef until browned, about 5 to 7 minutes, while breaking it into small pea-sized pieces. Add Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper, then transfer the flavorful mixture to a bowl.
  • In the same skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Sauté onion and bell pepper until translucent, for about 5 to 7 minutes. Add back the beef mixture and mix well. Take off the heat and allow to cool slightly for approximately 10 minutes.
  • Place egg roll wrappers on a flat surface. Add 1/2 slice of American cheese to each wrapper, followed by approximately 3 tablespoons of filling. Fold the bottom left corner over the filling and roll tightly, moistening the edges with water to seal.
  • Heat about 1 inch of oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Fry egg rolls in batches of 3 to 4 until golden brown on all sides, for about 3 to 4 minutes each. Drain them on a paper towel-lined plate.
