Bursting with cheesy goodness, these calzones are filled with savory ham, fresh basil, and a tangy tomato sauce. Perfect for parties or a quick and delicious dinner!
Ingredients:
  • 16 slices wholemeal bread
  • 80ml (1/3 cup) tomato pasta sauce
  • 80g sliced ham or salami
  • 125g (1/2 cup) fresh ricotta
  • 80g (1/2 cup) pre-grated 3 cheese blend (cheddar, mozzarella and parmesan)
  • 16 small fresh basil leaves, plus extra, to sprinkle
Instructions:
  • Cut 16 rounds from the bread using the large end of the pie maker pastry cutter.
  • In a pie maker, assemble sandwiches by layering 4 bread rounds with 1/2 tablespoon pasta sauce each. Add half of the ham or salami, followed by 1 tablespoon each of ricotta and cheese on each. Top with 2 basil leaves on each sandwich and cover with the remaining 4 bread rounds. Spray the tops with oil before cooking.
  • Preheat the pie maker. Cook pies for 5 minutes or until the bread is golden. Repeat with remaining ingredients to make a total of 8 pies. Finish with a sprinkle of extra basil and serve hot.
