Savor the tangy lemon-pine taste in these delectable Parmesan, rosemary, and olive oil breadsticks.
Ingredients:
  • Cornmeal, if desired
  • 12 balls frozen white dinner roll dough (from 3-lb package), thawed
  • 2 tablespoons olive or vegetable oil
  • 3 or 4 long fresh rosemary sprigs
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
  • Prepare 2 cookie sheets by brushing them with flavorful olive oil and sprinkling them with cornmeal. Roll each portion of dough into a delightful 9-inch rope and arrange the ropes about 1/2 inch apart on the prepared cookie sheets.
  • Brush 2 tablespoons of oil over the dough. Break 36 small clusters of rosemary leaves off the sprigs, using 3 clusters for each breadstick. Insert the stem end of each cluster 1/4 inch deep into the top. Sprinkle cheese over the dough. Cover loosely with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, or until almost doubled in size.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and bake for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown.
