Indulge in a mouthwatering fusion of pizza and fried rice with a crispy rice crust and cheesy topping. Customize with your preferred condiments for a flavor-packed experience.
Ingredients:
  • 250g (1 1/4 cups) medium-grain white rice
  • 1 small brown onion, finely chopped
  • 22.20 gm tomato paste
  • 1 tsp dried Italian herbs
  • 40g (1/2 cup) finely grated parmesan
  • 250ml (1 cup) tomato pasta sauce
  • 50g sliced ham, chopped
  • 200g (2 cups) grated pizza blend cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves, to serve
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 200C (180C fan forced). Boil rice in a large saucepan until tender, about 10 minutes.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a 25cm ovenproof frying pan until shimmering. Cook onion until softened, then add garlic and cook until aromatic. Stir in tomato paste for 30 seconds.
  • Pour the mixture into a large mixing bowl and mix in the rice, dried herbs, and parmesan while seasoning generously. Stir until everything is well combined. Use a paper towel to clean the pan. Drizzle the remaining oil into the pan and add the rice mixture. Spread it out evenly and press it down with the back of a large spoon to make it compact. Cook over medium-high heat for 10 minutes, occasionally moving the pan to ensure an even crust forms underneath. Once ready, take it off the heat.
  • Cover the rice crust with a layer of pasta sauce, then sprinkle generously with ham and cheese. Bake for 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
  • Garnish pizza with fresh basil leaves before serving.
